With your teenager now driving, the level of anxiety in your household has gone up tremendously. Your teenager is now exploring their new found freedom, but with that driving is an awesome experience for your young man or young woman. However they must also realize that driving is a privilege not a right. Obviously teenager car insurance must play into that equation.
To say the least it is an expensive proposition raising a teenager. Make sure they know what their responsibilities are. Obtaining teenager car insurance is a joint responsibility, between you and your teen. Make sure they share in the expense, this could be anything you decide: 50/50, 75/25 or they could pay it all. In fact when my son was driving and I needed to get teenager car insurance added to my plan, he knew that he was responsible for paying for his portion of the insurance. If he was unable to pay, then he did not get the privilege of driving the car. It may sound harsh , but he hasn't missed a payment.
You need to work out something that works for your family. Whatever you decide, stick with it.

Teen insurance leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure they've go it right to penalize teen drivers. They're not all that bad drivers.
